If I Ain't Got You

“If I Ain't Got You” is the song performed during Shelby and Jungkook’s evening at Riviera 31. The musicians begin its melody as a woman steps up to the microphone, and her gentle singing briefly gathers the attention of the restaurant’s customers around the live performance.

Performance at Riviera 31

Before the music begins, Shelby and Jungkook have arrived with Noah and his girlfriend, Alicia, taken an outdoor table, and received their drinks. As they turn toward the stage, the musicians play the melody of “If I Ain't Got You,” by Alicia Keys. The woman waits a few seconds before singing; her light, sweet voice catches the clientele’s attention.

Place in the Scene

Shelby is absorbed in the singer’s performance while Jungkook watches Shelby, rests his hand on her thigh, and drinks his cocktail. The song therefore accompanies a scene in which the couple share a table but attend to different things: Shelby follows the music, while Jungkook’s attention is on her. After about an hour and several more songs, the atmosphere at Riviera 31 has grown warmer and livelier, with people dancing and drinking as Shelby chats and laughs with Noah and Alicia.
